INFERTILITY

An infertility diagnosis can be devasting.
We are here to help, even if it’s just to act as a sounding board so that you can express your fears and frustrations. Don’t lose hope: Many patients who were told for years that they would never get pregnant were treated by Dr. Nezhat and now have beautiful, healthy children.

Infertility is a common problem in today’s society, affecting approximately 10-15% of couples. There are multiple causes, with the most common being unexplained infertility, followed by male factor, problems with ovulation, tubal damage, cervical abnormalities, and endometriosis.  More…

CHRONIC PELVIC PAIN

Endometriosis is one of the most common causes of chronic pelvic pain in women. However, it’s not the only condition that can cause pain in the abdominal/pelvic region: Ovarian remnant syndrome, non-endometriotic ovarian cysts, adenomyosis, ovarian torsion, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, adhesions, vulvadynia, chronic obstructive uropathy, fibroids… More…

Endometriosis is a whole-body disease

Back pain? Check. Bladder pain? Check. Vomiting, diarrhea, swellings throughout the body? Check. – These were just a few of the whole-body symptoms of an endometriosis-like disease described centuries ago, findings that Dr. Nezhat’s research uncovered for the first time in his article, ‘Endometriosis: ancient disease, ancient treatments.’… More…

Bowel Endometriosis

You vs The Entire Medical Establishment: Bowel Endometriosis & how it can feel trying to fight for the right diagnosis.
Thanks especially to the activism of women with endometriosis, greater awareness about this potentially debilitating disease has been achieved in recent years. Unfortunately, much work is still left to be done, as we still see patients who’ve had their bowel endometriosis in particular misdiagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Spastic Colon), Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, Celiac Disease, or other more well-known gastrointestinal disorders. Many women with endometriosis have even had their severe bowel symptoms dismissively brushed off as mere indigestion. More…

Can We Accurately Diagnose Endometriosis without a Diagnostic Laparoscopy?

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent, progressive chronic inflammatory disease that affects an estimated 1 in 6-8 of women, girls, transgender, and non-binary people, and an unknown number of men and intersex people as well. In the U.S., this works out to an estimated 10-15 million people and around 400-700 million worldwide. More…

Endometriosis is a social issue. Why?

Endometriosis may be associated with infertility, pain, or organ dysfunction. Millions of people around the globe are affected by it.

One out of every 7-10 couples who try to have children are not able to. In some countries, this issue has led to zero or negative birthrates, which is a social issue.

In our experience, more than 90% of “no-reason infertility” patients have endometriosis, so endometriosis is a social issue.

In the same way, incapaticitating pain or organ dysfunction could be a manifestation of endometriosis as millions are afflicted.

Endometriosis could interrupt the lives of all these people. It could disrupt education, school, college, work, social engagements, and even dreams, so it is a social issue.

If endometriosis is treated surgically by a VERY EXPERIENCED ENDOMETRIOSIS SURGEON, the result is excellent for fertility, pain relief, and restoration of organ function. Please refer to our published papers in this regard.

Testimonials

I had a minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure with Dr. Camran Nezhat to determine if I did in fact have Endometriosis.
He told me back in 2018 “This is not PCOS.. this is Endometriosis.”

I’m so thankful that I’ve had the ability to have met such an amazing doctor.

People from all over the world come for his expertise and knowledge “Camran Nezhat, MD is the best and most experienced endometriosis surgeon specialist in the world and has performed more endometriosis surgeries

Dr. Nezhat, thank you so much for this channel! Your work is so important, sharing your expertise, creating the awareness and showing us what it actually looks like inside our bodies! Without your videos I wouldn't have had the confidence to eventually seek help and push for a lap. My doctors were convinced I didn't have Endo / Adeno, however after 23 years of pain, I had the lap and they found Endo everywhere! I'm 35 years old. Thank you!

C.T.

This man saved my life in 2009.
He performed a high-quality laparoscopy, removed a big cyst from my ovary, saved another one that was almost destroyed by the cyst because it grew to it. It all threatened my life, so Doctor Nezhat did the surgery in 5 days to save me. I was 22. Also, he discovered endometriosis during the operation, and he successfully treated it. Another top surgeon who saw me before him refused to deal with me because my case was special.
Today, I am absolutely blessed and happy mother.
This man is a doctor from God. Rare doctor today because his love to people is obviously the main reason he has been doing this his whole life.
I admire your work and sacrifice for people. It’s priceless. You have done so much for people! It cannot be measured.
May God richly bless you and your family.

H.M.

You all were so kind to me,

Endometriosis of young girls and teenagers

Endometriosis: A Disease of Adolescence: For most of the modern age, there was a long-standing myth that endometriosis was a disease affecting mostly adult women. However, endometriosis is actually a disease of adolescence, a fact Dr. Nezhat has been publishing about and teaching his students for many years. This observation was also made by ancient physicians from more than 2,500 years ago, who reported on an endometriosis-like condition referred to as the ‘disease of young girls’, or the ‘disease of virgins’ because they noticed that it seemed to be more common in young girls who had begun menstruating.  More…

OVARIAN ENDOMETRIOSIS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Endometriomas still mistaken f0r functional ovarian cysts: The ovaries are one of the most complex and important organs of the female anatomy, not just for their life-giving properties, but also because of their dual role as endocrine organs (glands) that produce some of a woman’s most vital hormones, such as androgen, estrogen, and progesterone. However, the amazing feats of your ovaries don’t stop there; they also produce essential paracrine-autocrine hormones like oxytocinrelaxininhibinactivin, and follistan….  More…

Confessions from the Operating Room

The most challenging surgical cases: Have you ever wondered what sorts of situations in the OR might be unnerving even for surgeons? Well, we thought it might be an interesting topic to explore, especially because it could help prospective patients learn more about the different types of surgical techniques and technologies that Dr. Nezhat uses to restore health in the safest way possible. And so, in this week’s post, we review the following two kinds of surgical obstacles that the majority of surgeons would admit could be among the most challenging to face … More…
