After 16 years of hoping, waiting, praying, CL becomes pregnant at last after successful laparoscopic surgery.
November 8, 1993
Dear Dr. [Camran] Nezhat:
I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I was a patient
of yours back in June of 89 at which time you performed a videolaseroscopy.
I had been burdened with endometriosis for about 15 years and
had not only been in extreme agony, I was also told by local Doctors
that I probably would never be able to have children. My husband
and I had, at the time, been married for 16 years and had never
used any type of birth control, so we had just taken for granted
that we would never have children.
Well, I know it’s taken me a long time, but I wanted to
send you a picture of my two beautiful children. I became pregnant
with my son, M, in February of 1990, not too long after I returned
from Atlanta. I also have an 11 month old daughter, S. Whenever
I look at them, I thank God I went to see you when I did. We love
them so much hand we feel it never would have happened if I hadn’t
had the surgery you performed.
When S was born, the Doctors said I was loaded with adhesions
again, and it took them a while to get the baby out, but thus
far, I have not had the terrible pains I had for so many years.
Again, I’m sorry it took me so long to let you know what
a success my surgery was. I can never thank you enough. I talk
to many women now that have endometriosis and always recommend
you.
