In 2003, Dr Gomaa completed her Internship at the University of Alexandria Hospital Alexandria in Egypt. Soon after completion of her internship, Dr Gomaa worked as a house officer at a busy hospital for emergency care. During this period, she gained valuable experience in the management of various medical and surgical emergencies.

Dr Gomaa was a Research Assistant in 2004 at Northwestern University in Chicago IL. There, she investigated connections between early medical findings and probable diseases including between high androgen level and coronary heart disease, diabetes and heart disease.
